How to create an XML destination template

Summary

This article demonstrates how to create an XML destination template within Enterprise Enabler (EE).


Requirements

  1. Enterprise Enabler version 5.x
  2. XML AppComm
  3. XSD file


Create an XML template

Open Enterprise Enabler and create a new template by clicking File » Template » Destination Template » XML.



Then the Destination Template Definition window opens.



Packaging option is applicable to RosettaNet and so the Packaging option should be unchecked. Click on the  button and the Select a Schema File dialog window opens.



Select the schema file and then click the  button. 



Select File as a transport type from the Transport dropdown menu.



Click on the  button and the Set the File Parameters dialog window opens.



Click on the  button and the EE Variable File Name window opens.



Click on the  button and the Open dialog window opens.



Select the directory and type CustomerOrders.xml as the filename in the File Name textbox. Now click on the  button when done. Then click on the  button in the EE Variable File Name window when done. Here is a snapshot of completed window:



After configuring the file parameters click the  button. Click on the Column toolbar.



Then click on the  button and the Select Main Element dialog window opens.



Select CustomerOrders and then click on the  button and the template window opens.




Save the template

Specify the template name, category and other parameters.



Click on the Template toolbar.



Click on the  button to save the template.
