EE ADO.Net Connector

EE ADO.Net Connector is a data provider for Enterprise Enabler that is built on ADO.Net technology to present a complete solution for developing standard SQL based access to aggregated data from multiple line of business applications.

Advantages of EE ADO.Net

1.      Wide coverage of access to Line of Business Applications

EE ADO.Net Connector allows developers to connect multiple Line of Business Applications such as SAP, Microsoft Dynamics AX, CRM, SalesForce.com, databases, XML, EDI and flat files. Once developed, the schema objects can be used in multiple host applications such as thick & thin clients, Microsoft SharePoint Server Web parts, custom Line of Business applications and any application that supports ADO.Net connectivity. Pre-built applications that support ADO.Net Provider Factory can also use EE ADO.Net Connector without any modifications.

2.      Flexible Connectivity

EE ADO.Net Connector allows developers to create connectivity to multiple LOB systems and aggregate data according to complex business rules. It hides the complexity of connectivity and data representation in the LOB Systems.

3.      Comprehensive Support for ADO.NET Technology Features

EE ADO.Net Connectors supports new ADO.NET features and technologies such as base-class-based provider model, provider factories, connection string builder, metadata schemas, catalog enumeration and so on.

4.      Database Application Development Extensions

EE ADO.Net Connector has a rich set of design time tools that leverage the development process greatly. Particularly, there is a convenient design time editor to manage integration components. EE ADO.Net Connector extensions integrate tightly with Visual Studio 2008.

5.      ADO.NET Entity Framework Support

ADO.NET Entity Framework is a conceptual approach to database application development with a focus on objects instead of relational data. The flexible architecture of Entity Framework is made up of well-thought layers and modules. Entity Framework optimizes the development process with object-relational mapping, SQL-based entity query language, and LINQ.EE ADO.Net Connector fully supports the Entity Framework capabilities, which allows you to base your object-oriented applications on federated data model.

6.      In-process or Stand-alone Server based Support

EE ADO.Net Connector allows the developers to choose an optimum architecture based on their application requirements. EE ADO.Net Connector can run transformations in the process space of host applications or delegate the execution to Enterprise Enabler Server running on a separate server.
